My first contents mock up. I have made this on fireworks using basic tools (eg: text)

Final Mock-up.

I have added extra photos on to my final mock-up. I have also moved the price 'free' and lowered the 'fancy going to a ball' text and photo. The text 'In need of a summer sun tan' has being changed, it has being made smaller and I have corrected the spelling mistakes and grammar. I have added more detail about my main centre photo so I have an idea of the photo type I need to take when I have at that stage.

Thank you for reading/viewing!

mock ups.

This is my very first draft for my main cover of my magazine. I have made this on fireworks and only used basic tools.

This is my second draft of my main page in my music magazine, I have added my Masthead to this. I have still only used basic tools on fireworks.

This is my third draft for my magazine cover. I have added the final masthead and also added 2 smaller images of feet so that it matches the main Masthead. I have used fireworks but I have used a few extra tools such as 'magic wand' to help erase unwanted items on a photo.

My forth draft: i have changed the text in the sunheading 'fancy going to a ball'. i have created this using fireworks by using toold such as 'macig wand' and text'

This is my fifth draft/mock-up of my front page of the 6th form magazine. I have added a prom photo and edited it using 'magic wand' and ‘cropper’; I have also added a picture of the sun behind the second subheading 'in need of a summer sun tan?’ I have made up and completed a free driving lesson voucher using an image from the internet and different colour text. i have added the price to the bottom bar on the page too.

Colour ideas

I have being researching into to previous school magazines and some of them have got colours in there masthead that are matching to the main image, I would like to have a backgroud colour but I don’t want it to clash with the outfits that I have choosen. I would like the have bright and vibrant text on my front page so that all the subheadings and information that the target audence will be interested in will standout as soon as they look at the magazine.

Font ideas.

I have being thinking about all of the different types of fonts i can use in my school magazine that are attractive but also easy to read and understand. so far I have thought of fonts such as:
1: Arial.
2: Courier
3: Georgia
4: Helvetica
5: Times
6: Trebuchet
7: Verdana
8: Accent SF
9: Alibi
10: Basic sans light SF
11: Blippo Light SF
12: Elegance

All of my text will be typed in italics as it looks to be more formal and official. I have decided to use EGEGANCE for my masthead, Basic sans light SF for headlines but for smaller text I will simply be using Arial. All of these fonts are easy to read and they are clear and will match the target audience of the magazine.

Masthead ideas

During my lessons I have being brainstorming a few ideas that I could use for my Masthead in my magazine, I have thought a few ideas such as:
1: The next step.
2: The next step for you.
3: The next step 4 u.
4: The new you.
5: A better education.
6: The better life.
7: Better yourself.
8: Better you, better life.
After thinking up my ideas i have finally decided to use 'The next step 4 u' as my Masthead as it is in text tone so it is correctly aimed at my target audience of my magazine.

Introduction of me.

Hey. My names Shannon Cooper and i have recently started to study media studies at sixth form. My aim is to make a school magazine front page and also a contents page. My contents page will include information about what is going to be throughout the rest of the magazine and it will include photos. My front page will have information about what is happening within the sixth form and trips available for year 12 and 13 students, it will also contain pictures of students during school hours whilst they are participating in activities. There will be a little section on the front page about the leaver’s ball so that the year 13s will be totally involved with the planning and the progress of the ball.
